As you know, our Club supports the BridgeNSW Online Supervised Play (OSP) initiative. In order to run this program for beginners from around NSW, we need the help of more experienced players to Supervise a table of four.

The platform used is Real Bridge so you can see and hear each other. It runs from 3:45pm until around 5:45pm on any Sunday you are available to help. At the moment we regularly have 4 tables of "Taree Tigers" but are hoping to increase this number as it is a great teaching tool and is totally free.

Just a reminder that we will be running the Statewide Pairs on Tuesday, 4 August. This is an event sponsored by BridgeNSW.

As BNSW provide the deal file, you can only play in this at one club. This is because all clubs will be playing the same boards.

This is a green point event but the top 50% across the State will earn red points. Souvenir booklets will be provided to all participants.

Our Club supports BridgeNSW in offering new players the opportunity to practice online.

These sessions are run on Real Bridge and commence at 3:45pm (for 4:00pm start), finishing around 5:30pm every Sunday.

Each week covers a different topic, eg Strong Openings, which is next week’s topic. Participants play 12 boards.

Supervisors are available to offer support and guidance at the table and these sessions are totally free.

Twenty-two pairs competed yesterday in the David McAdam Trophy, which is an annual red point event run by our Club.

David was a wonderful bridge player and a great supporter of our Club. It always amused me to watch him play. He never sorted his cards into suits but would just pull them out, seemingly at random.

The top three place getters were:

1st - Terry Bodycote and Sue Eishauer 

2nd - Kath Reaney and Bev Daniel

3rd - Fran and Wayne Carroll

On Saturday 18 July 2026, our club is trialing the reintroduction of lunch with bridge. Full details including cost, starting time and menu are below. Register in the usual ways – either by writing your name in the book for Sat 18-Jul-26 or online. Get in early – there’ll be a maximum of 12 tables. NOTE: If you wish to forego the lunch and just play bridge that day, ring Jenny C on 0428 527 825 – do not register the usual way.

INTRODUCING .....

Lyn Boylan ~ our new Tournament Co-ordinator. She certainly has a handle on organising our events - getting our entries in on time and liaising with representatives from BridgeNSW and the ABF. Her role is mainly administrative and we appreciate the wealth of experience she brings to the role.

We have now completed our 2026 Grand National Open Teams event.

Thirteen teams battled it out for gold points with the top three as follows:

1ST - CARROLL TEAM (Great Lakes)

2ND - BODYCOTE TEAM (Taree/Great Lakes)

3RD - JOHNSON TEAM (Port Macquarie)

I am pleased to report that every team earned some gold!

Our thanks go out to John McIlrath who ran both weeks brilliantly, overcoming many obstacles along the way.

Congratulations to all the participants.

Fifty-three members and friends celebrated our Club's 46th Birthday yesterday. 

Pauline shared a few words about the club's early days, followed by feasting on two large, calorie-dense cakes. 

It is a reminder of how far we have come in that time and how fortunate we are today, with our lovely new, spacious room and a growing membership of enthusiastic players.
