Introducing ..... Maretta Callow

Today I am delighted to have the opportunity to introduce my friend Maretta Callow.

As we all know, Maretta doesn't like to draw attention to herself so I asked her a few questions and here are her responses:

1. HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN PLAYING BRIDGE?

   I started lessons in August, 2010 when Judy Scott was the teacher.

    

2. DO YOU COME FROM A CARD-PLAYING FAMILY?

   I did not grow up playing cards but I taught my children to play all sorts of different card games. Even though I played Euchre, 500 and Canasta as an adult, I found Bridge to be far more challenging.

    

3. I KNOW YOU HAVE FULFILLED MANY ROLES AT THE BRIDGE CLUB. TELL US WHAT YOU ARE CURRENTLY INVOLVED IN?

   I am the Dealing Co-ordinator at present. I generate all the deal files on the computer and then deal the boards. When I get very busy, Lynda Edge kindly comes to my rescue.

   Maretta has always been ready to take on a challenge. She has a analytical and mathematical mind having been an Accountant in her former life (ie. life before Bridge). 

   She has always been very supportive when dealing with the beginners, coming along often to help supervise them as they have been learning.
