Introducing ..... Ann and Steve Taylor
It is time to introduce another couple to our members ~~ Ann and Steve Taylor. Hopefully most of you will have already observed their quiet contribution to the Club. The way they just keep working to get things done!
Ann and Steve took up the challenge to join our Committee late last year and have been a wonderful support. They have accepted the role of Catering Officers, co-ordinating all our events and functions (eg. the Christmas Party). They always arrive early and leave late, making sure everything is left in good order.
I asked them a few questions about themselves. Here is their response.
- Tell us about yourself:
Steve: “I like fixing things, solving problems and just helping out.”
Ann: “If I can make someone’s day a little brighter, then my day is all the better.”
- What do you like about playing Bridge?
Steve: “I watch and learn from players at different levels, trying not to make a dog’s breakfast of my game!”
Ann: “It’s a good day at Bridge when I make a step forward in understanding this complex game. It is definitely good brain training.”
- What is your favourite holiday destination?
Steve: “My favourite would have to be Alaska. It is opposite to most of the things we see and do in Australia. Seeing Kodiac bears close up and huge chunks of floating ice. Amazing place!”
Ann: “Like Steve, I love the scenery in Alaska but I will never forget how I felt when a young male lion walked right past our jeep during our visit to Kruger National Park in South Africa. I didn’t know I could hold my breath for that long!”
If you don’t know Ann and Steve well, take the time to catch up with them soon. I can guarantee your day will instantly improve.
